This lecture charts the impact of early Netherlandish painting in Italy, from the activities of Italian merchants in Bruges, collectors such as the Medici in Florence and the travels of artists, to the responses of painters, including Piero della Francesca, Giovanni Bellini and Leonardo da Vinci.
