The Royal History of the Royal School of Needlework

With Susan Kay-Williams, Chief Executive of the Royal School of Needlework, based at Hampton Court Palace. The RSN’s royal connections began from the outset when Princess Helena became its President and in 1875 Queen Victoria became its Patron. This lecture tells the story of the RSN’s royal connections and especially focuses on the RSN’s role in all the British coronations of the 20th century, but first beginning with making the funeral pall for Queen Victoria herself in the tightest of timescales.
